Adam Buxton’s Podcast

I’ve always loved radio but never really found an easy way to get into podcasts until I noticed a few weeks ago that spotify have started listing podcasts – maybe they always did and I just didn’t notice!

I’ve had a heavy few months with work, had run out of music that I wanted to listen to while beavering away and was seeking something different to listen to (other than the standard output of Radio 4, which I usually revert to for such times).

So I decided to give listening to Adam Buxton’s podcast a try (I never really liked the Adam and Joe show, but did like some more recent stuff I’d seen of Adam on TV over the last few years) – and I’m very glad I did.

I’ve listened to it backwards (time-wise) and it’s just what I needed to hear.

Funny, interesting, stupid (but not overbearingly), warm, friendly and good-humoured even at some (what sound like) difficult times for him.

It’s a great introduction to interview-style podcasts for a listener covering topics of comedy, film, music, tv, books and other entertainment with Adam’s friends and acquaintances and I hope it continues. You can find it here:

A few favourite episodes so far:

Spoon – In part because he references a record shop owned by someone I know: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7FJqbRyxvXTfvlO42qP1s1

Kathy Burke – because it gives you a real insight into her and her attitude vs. achievements which is a lesson for us all: https://open.spotify.com/episode/73XTLEJARwoG1GCIrQxd0G

Sarah Pascoe – because she sounds like such a fan anyway: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4qvkCx1K7t6cZaRebFUplR

Rob Brydon – because I can listen to Rob Brydon for hours: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7ChITJVJ9fgUUsKiqZeLvM

Louis Theroux – because it’s hard to ignore anything with Louis Theroux in it:  https://open.spotify.com/episode/2LsC7SLcW9Twy2pybn6xNd

And there’s loads more – just have a listen 🙂
